Able to ping ip address but not domain names

Jul 22, 2014 · I have a Windows 8.1 latop. I am able to get an IP address automatically. What I am not able to do is resolve DNS. I can ping a physical IP address out on the Internet. But when I try to ping a domain name like "yahoo.com" it does not find it. I have been messing with this for over a day now.
